Summary

The Level 2 Certificate in Providing Security Services is a qualification for individuals who work in the private security industry. There are four pathways for the apprentice to select from: three specific pathways (Static and Patrol Guarding, Door Supervision and CCTV Operation) and a general pathway. Apprentices should select the one that is most appropriate for them. This qualification is competence based and the units are based on Skills for Security NOS for Security and Loss Prevention.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. However, apprentices should be able to work at level 1 or above and be proficient in the use of English Language.

Assessment method

Assessment is by portfolio. Providing Security Services is a competence based qualification and assessment will demonstrate an apprentice’s consistent performance in the workplace.

Equipment reqd

All required equipment will be provided in the workplace.
